what's the "correct" way of hitting cymbals? i am a guitarist, so i have no idea...

Cymbals should be hit with a glancing blow, not dead-on where the stick is coming straight down on the cymbal.

90% of the drummers I know just smash like a freaking gorilla on their cymbals. I don't care if it's going to sound better using my cymbals, I'm not letting them touch them
