Today's \m/ metal \m/ playlist

so far today:
tragedy - s/t
class action - war torn (punkrock :headbang: )
katatonia - brave murder day (while walking back in the rain from my metal-ass rain hike in the metal-ass state park)

up next: anekdoten - gravity

later on:
speed at reed festival-- Tragedy, Gouka, Talk Is Poison, Hit Me Back, All Systems Fail, & Forced March :kickass:

Updating this to now be TODAY'S metal playlist (some carry over from the weekend):

Helheim - Yersinia Pestis
Tad Morose - Modus Vivendi
1349 - Liberation
Aborym - With No Human Intervention
Ajattara - Kuolema
Queensryche - s/t

Ok, moving through my day...

Helheim was pretty fuckin' good IMO. Not so viking-ish as I guess they were in the past, but it's a headbanger for sure.

Tad Morose, holy crap! It's a GREAT "true" metal album. I love the vocalist's erm, vocals. And a classic bonus track cover of my favorite Accept song can't hurt.

1349 was meh. Maybe I just don't dig furious blastbeats, screechy vocals and tinny guitars as much as I used to. There were several standout tracks ("Legion" comes to mind), but nothing I'll go back to often.

Still going...

Ok, more updates:

Aborym - HOLY FUCKIN SHIT, this album SLAYED. I remember Fire Walk With Us as being very good, but was not prepared for With No Human Intervention to be as good as it was. A definite keeper.

Ajattara - meh, nothing extraordinary here. I was hoping for a far more folkish-tinged metal experience, instead it was pretty much by-the-numbers Scandinavian death metal with melody. Totally forgettable.

Queensryche - anyone with a brain knows this EP rules. The re-released remastered version with the 10 live bonus tracks is just gravy. God this band was so fuckin good.

Next batch:
Amorphis - Far From the Sun
Overkill - Killbox 13
Anthrax - We've Come For You All
Queensryche - Tribe (I hope I make it all the way through this)
Arise - Kings of the Cloned Generation
Seven Witches - Passage to the Other Side

Yes, but by just taking my word for it, you will save you an hour that otherwise will be eternally lost. :)

Then again, perhaps you aren't an elitist pig like me, and you enjoy it. :erk:

I'm definitely not an elitist pig, lol. For example, I love Manowar :loco:

But I will listen for myself, as I always do. Probably not tonight though, I have some TV and football to watch.
