Killing Ground is out! You've heard what I thought now what do you think about it?

Todays the day NOT. Well in the uk anyway who are the dickheads responsible for delaying the new saxon album we get the release date they delay the release by
one week ive just rung up 5 record shops and they all say the same well whos ever idea it was to delay it thanks a bunch and up yours i was really looking forward
today getting killing ground in the future who ever is resonsible but bother givin us a release date if your going to delay it and having our hopes dashed another week waiting for killing ground will feel like another month .

Same here, I just phoned up two record shops in the UK, both say its been put back a week, why? god knows. Same story as Metalhead, I got mine a full month after the 'release' date and chased around most of my county to get it. Half the record shops dont know what youre talking about and most others dont care, it seems that any publicity Saxons distributors should be putting out with the album are either VERY limited or non existent.
Why oh why cant we simply buy it online from this site, it would save so much bother.
As always, its the UK that gets it in the neck, I wouldnt be surprised if the limited edition isnt released in this country too.

- It's fuckin' brilliant as Biff would say!

I managed to get it even though it wasn't all that easy to find, unfortunately many record stores here in Stockholm do not have Saxon albums. I listened through it a couple of times and I think it's the best Saxon album for a long time - and that does not mean to say the last ones has been bad. But this is one hell of an album. After having listened through it just a couple of times I haven't found any weak songs - you know songs you just wanna skip because they're not as good as the rest - not necessarily bad songs. It's a solid album.
My personal favourite so far is 'Deeds of glory' - I just think it's one hell of a song. I love the melodic chorus, also the bridge is great. Not to mention the lyrics.
Also 'Coming home', 'Running for the border' and 'Rock is our life' - great title. Of course 'Shadows on the wall' is something extraordinary. But most of all I love that it's a solid album with a great sound. You can put it on random play and know that every track is great.

Anybody got the limited edition? Any comments on the bonus CD? Unfortunately, as expected, the LE does not seem to be available here in Sweden. I look forward to the release of "Heavy metal thunder" instead.

I'm sad that Saxon will not be touring Sweden this time. Would have been great to see them again...

I got it today and I'm stunned. It's a just marvelous album.

BajenPatte, I found the limited edition here in Växjö, Sweden. The packaging is superb. Beautiful gate fold digipack. As for the re-recorded songs, all I can say is kick ass. The updated production really brings new life to the old classics. It will be interesting to hear what the rest of the tracks will sound like when the complete re-recorded classics album's out.

Hi every Saxon out there.
Dont buy The first Killing ground cd until they release the limited edition one For the same pricewait for the extra tracks extra tracks. It will be released about a week later anyway. This is not the bands fault just some fat greedy so and so. The tracks are, princess of the night, crusader, wheels of steel, motorcycle man, strong arm of the law, denim and leather, dallas 1pm and and the bands played on.I will wait for the extra as know it will be well worth it,do you agree? and the sample of nigel album sounds really good i might just buy it ;) Look at the hmv web site you will see the two cds.Just be patient fellow rockers.

One of the record stores in town had it, so I got my copy today.

The limited edition that is. Maybe it's only delayed in the UK.

Today is NOT the day 'cause in my fuckin' hometown of Trento (north of Italy) the new Saxon album is not available in any record shop!! The best record in town assured me that Killing ground will be available at the end of the week but i fear that I will not listen to it until next week, i'm not sure about finding the limited edition either!!! This is the most irritating thing about being a Saxon fan that you always have to suffer to find out their records, well I hope that the record will be worth the wait...

ok i got the ltd edition killing ground on saturday and what a fantastic album by saxon below are my personnel
fav songs of the album it has loads of great songs on it so i cant mark them of 1 to 10 so 3 songs share 1st place, 4 songs share 2nd place, 2 songs share 3rd place,
and 1 in 4th place and thay are as follows
1, killing ground
1, deeds of glory
1, coming home
2, running to the border
2, you dont no what youve got
2, dragons lair
2, court of the crimson king
3, till hell freezes over
3, rock is our life
4, shadows on the wall.

first of i like the intros saxon are putting on there albums
i think they work just as well on there albums as they do at there concerts.
killing ground kicks in great song and nibbs carters bass solo part fits the song spot on adding some great feeling in there before it kicks back in again great start to the album and killing ground goes into my top 5 all time saxon songs

deeds of glory another one of my favs of the album saxon really do no how to write and perform war songs and they are marsters at it.

coming home a groovy saxon rocker this song really makes me feel good f--k nos why i cant put that into words it just does its just the way the guitar sounds and the way it is song great song

running to the border nice heavy guitar sound track that just flows along great song

you dont know what youve got sounds like another dig at o/d and if it theres nothing wrong in that not only a dig at them but a great song

dragons lair up tempo saxon drivin hard from start to finish good one

court of the crimson king when i first heard about saxon doing this song i dident think it would suit saxons style of music but they do a great job on it sounds good great vocals by biff showing another side of his vocal power

till hell freezes over another good groovy number some people said it has a touch of an AC/DC which it does a little but its a good song nice antham type song

rock is our life I think when saxon sing rock is our life i think they mean it and thank god they do when they produce albums like this some bands albums produce maybe a couple of great songs on each one saxons killing ground has 9 out of ten great tracks on it that i love

shadows on the wall - now on to the only saxon track of the album that i dont like it might grow on me but im not sure. The song starts of really well and it sounds like its going to be a great song then it just totally drops with only one thing that spoils it and that is the weird vocal effect parts that are in the song some people will like it but not for me i dont think it suits saxons style it could of been great if not for that and that is the reason why im givin killing ground in total 9 out of 10 hey 9 out of 10 great tracks on one album cant be bad a and after givin the album loads and loads of spins its my all time fav saxon album great songs and great production.

Thanks for an excellent album saxon and im really glad i bought it. Even the bonus cd with the re recorded songs on is A1 you can turn great songs into even greater songs with killer production all the sounds on the bonus cd stand out but if i had to pick one it would be crusader
this one really comes to the front on here and is surprising how different it sounds good one.

With saxon producing albums like killing ground dont you guys even consider retiring for a long time yet we need your music.

AND THANKS AGAIN SAXON FOR A GREAT ALBUM

CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU GUYS AT THE MEAN FIDDLER IN LONDON ON OCT 13TH WERE COMING DOWN FROM EAST YORKSHIRE TO SEE YOU SO PLEASE MAKE IT ONE THAT WE WILL NEVER FORGET FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS AND PLEASE DEFF PLAY KILLING GROUND, DEEDS OF GLORY, AND COMING HOME, OH F--K THAT PLAY THEM ALL. CHEERS IAN.

...Well, I now got the limited edition as well and have to add that it's an awesome bonus CD. Heavy. Great to have so many of the classics on one CD. Great idea.
Well worth getting another copy of Killing ground just to get the bonus CD...
