Believe what you want, but I posted my comments on each above, and I doubt EV being slightly softer would make any difference! Furthermore, the loudest in round 1 lost

Haha, nah (and I'm not participating either, so it's not like I think it's my tone ), I just resented the implication that I would be fooled by volume, come now (and the neither of the leaders in round 2 are particularly loud either)

Yeah, EV has enough low end to fill out the mix, but not too much as to sound woofy.

ev, f, and fu were all very good. i liked f best. it sounds tight in the beginning section and has nice clarity.

Picked FF, don't really know why to be honest. :/

edit : I know, I'm working on a mix with dark guitars. The other ones sound a bit scratchy (or unbalanced) to me as my ears didn't adjust I guess.

Definitely the hardest out of the bunch so far.

FU sits with the mix best. I think its downfall is that it's too low and buried within the mix, so it will not get the votes it deserves.

FF comes second, but has too much in the higher/grainy mid registers to work as well.

EV is too tubby in the lows.

GT may have had a chance if it wasn't for that weird, artificial sub boost.

The rest don't cut it IMO.

F sounds a bit midless but its cool
FF has some klangy touch(?) but i like it too
so it comes down to FU & EV
EV seems more balanced so i'll go for that one

If this contest is proof of anything, it's that there is no right and wrong when it comes to tone. There is only taste. Everybody's liking EV, but it just doesn't sit right with me. Big god damn fan of F. It's harsh, but somehow in a good way. I dig. +1 for F.

My vote is between EV and and FF.
This two submissions sound very good because they added a LOT of low end to compensate the lack of bass in the backing track,
IMHO this was about a guitar tone competition, but it turned to "guitar tone and fix the lack of bass in the backing track competition" for what I see.
This was very confusing (to me ) because I summited my "guitar tone" without any compensation por the bass, leaving room for it, but... well.

Anyway, my vote goes for FF because it has a litte more body that EV that its very good and also has a more clear sound but yes I agree that has some boomy low end sometimes.
