Hi

I have a Peavey Rockmaster preamp, which sounds sweet. So I want to record some stuff in Reaper.I use a Tone Port UX 2 with it.So after I record a track, in playback its out of sync(its too fast to be precise). So I have to shift it, which is pointless.
This is how I connect it : guitar into the preamp->preamp line out->instrument input in TP.
I have a decent computer - AMD 2x2,8ghz, 2gb of ram, 200gb disk.Everything works flawlessly except for that sxxit.

Please help, my project is on hold because of that :/ .

when you say out of sync, do you mean out of sync with the track your putting the guitar to, or are you recording 2 guitar tracks at once, and one is out from the other?

Well, Im recording one guitar at a time.So im setting up the metronome.Than after Im done, its clearly visible(and off course audible)that the peaks are not alligned to the metronome. Its off.To be more precise, the track starts too early. So I have to shift it(couple milisecons forward), then its perfect.I mean "perfect", because shifting it in order to be dead on is a mess.

It could be just your latency. That could easily cause a few milliseconds delay. I'm not sure what is the recommended setting for the line6 gear, but as low as your PC will take would be best for recording..

I dont know... Reaper's monitoring system shows latency at ~14/29 ms 44,1khz 24bit.
Settings in Tone Port are also OK I guess: 44,1khz 24 bit buffer size 512/16 bit and the tone direct monitoring system is set almost on the extra small setting.

hmmm. I don't know reaper, and I don't know line6. Id try reducing the 512 down to 128 samples, maybe switch of direct monitoring, see if that helps.
Other then that, I can only say that I've moved tracks around by milliseconds on plenty of occasions, just to get them so sit right, or to help sort out a phase problem, so you may have to continue doing that ( unless someone who knows what they're talking about chips in to help ya.. haha)

best of luck man
