A mic'ed metal chair being hit with a wooden spoon sounds better than the DFH EZX snares...

For a good usable raw snare, the Nashville EZX has some great ones to choose from. The first offering from ToonTrack to have a FULL sounding snare IMO...

EZdrummer is very cool. I also like the Claustrophobic and Twisted kits for more experimental stuff. The included grooves are great session starters, though I use Addictive Drums now. I wish I still had it. I want to try this new Jazz kit and the Funkmasters kit.
