Top 10 Television Shows of the 1980s

Possibly my favorite show ever (based on the ol' mood of the day criteria). "The Best of Both Worlds" Parts 1 & 2 could easily have been a theatrical release. Just superb acting and intriguing storylines.

After posting this, I wasted like the next two hours reading wikipedia entries about STTNG episodes, then looking up the most highly ranked episodes, and then downloading some of them.[/nerd]

My #1 has always been 'The Inner Light', but yeah, of course 'The Best of Both Worlds' is excellent...I'm also getting the follow-up 'Family', which is sort of a Part 3, dealing a bit more with Picard's recovery. And then the series finale was about as good as a series finale can be.

Is that the one where Picard lives an entire lifetime in another world during a period of like 20 minutes or something? If so, that one was indeed phenominal. Almost any episode focusing on Patrick Stewart was destined to be a good one.

The scene at the end where he plays the instrument and remembers his experience is about as powerful as the show gets (though Picard looking out the window at the end of "The Best of Both Worlds Part 2" comes close).

Yep, another tour de force from Patrick Stewart and yet another powerful ending with the boy looking up to the evening sky "lost in reverie".

What can I say, another great one as well. John DeLancie as "Q" was another mark of an almost can't miss show. Love the line where he shows Picard the beginnings of life on earth eminating from the "little pool of goo".

Some of my other personal favorites also include "Reunion", "Q Who", "Yesterday's Enterprise", "The Measure of a Man" & "The Wounded".

or something like that  it's been a good 25 years.

was Mork & Mindy 80's ... Mindy was hot and Robin Williams (while at times annoying) was born for that role.

#9 - Megadeth - Rust in Peace (1990)
1990 was not a really good year for music, but thankfully, Megadeth managed to cook up something good for that year. With Dave Mustaine returning to the group, Megadeth gave us this strong album done in a style similar to Metallica's.
wtf?
