Top 20 Albums of the Decade (2000-2010)

Skyrefuge posted some that I would want in my best of list also. Damn! So many great albums...

Heathenreel, Vs. The World, Oceanic, and Death's Design, all amazing albums.

I would likely need to make my top 100 or 150, honestly.

A lot of people putting King Diamond's Puppet Master on here. While I think it is an awesome album, I would have to go with Give Me Your Soul...Please as his best of this decade. I love that album from beginning to end and the intro alone every time gives me goosebumps.

Here's my list. Its in roughly the right order (at least the first half). I'm only doing 2000-2009, since that's the standard decade.

Great list. Mine would include most of them as well, I suppose. I'd also add other stuff like:

Devin Townsend - Terria
Ulver - Blood Inside
Garden Wall - Forget the Colours

... and replace DT's Black Clouds with Six Degrees; Riverside's first with their second one; and the Opeth with Blackwater Park, though.

Thanks!

Terria was a near miss off my list. I love that album. The Ulver album is impressive, but its so different that I still need to give it more time (I just got it a year ago). I'll have to look into Garden Wall, haven't heard of them before.

Its interesting reading people's lists because you can generally tell right away what type of music someone prefers. I'll look at some people's lists and be like "wtf that's a terrible list." Then I realize they probably think the same of mine.

Man, I love ISIS as well, and Oceanic has always been special for me because it's the first ISIS disc I bought and loved. Though I've never been disappointed with any of their efforts, I guess the impossible has happened and their last one has become my favourite by them. Not as groundbreaking as Oceanic but addictive nonetheless.

Totally agree; I love everything by ISIS. Oceanic is my favorite album because of that song "Weight". They played it live with Maria Christopher on backing vocals. It was the most mind-blowing live song I've ever heard. When they broke up, I was borderline traumatized.
