That's funny as my bass teacher thinks he has great tone for a fretless given what type of music he plays

Sean Malone has great fretless tone considering what type of music he plays. Actually he just has great tone full stop. Have a listen to his tone on Focus again, it's basically perfect.

DiGiorgio just plays straight through an Ampeg SVT with an 8 x 10 cab, or at least he used to. It's a setup that lends itself much better to a brighter, more metallic fretted sound imo.

Yeah, it's pretty unique that DiGiorgio played on a fretless in metal ALONE. I mean, I don't hear fretless basses played much so maybe it's just the fact that it's a unique tone to me? I'd like to hear what ITP would sound like on a fretted bass.
