Obviously Emperor is the best Norwegian Metal band, other faves of mine are:

- Satyricon (particularly The Shadowthrone & Nemesis Divina)
- Old Man's Child (particularly Ill-natured Spiritual Invasion & The Pagan Prosperity)
- Arcturus (though I'm not really into La Masquerade...)
- Dimmu Borgir

Borknagar is good too (only have first 2 albums), Immortal put out some cool records recently as well (esp. Damned In Black). Trail Of Tears is good and so were Tristania (first album, didn't like the 2nd, haven't heard the new one). Also really like Solefald's first album. Myrkskog's first disc was excellent too. Just discovered Green Carnation, great band!
