I love the Monster Magnet album too. And the Melvins album. In fact, I'm listening to "Bride..." right now.

My fave of 2010 is Crazy For You by Best Coast, a great mix of surf pop and the Shangri La's.

I also heard some of Brothers by the Black Keys last night, it sounded great.

Listening to Best Coast on spotify just now. It sounds pretty good. Need to listen to it a bit more though.

Noticed that you're from Glasgow. I lived there for two years as a student, and fell in love with the place. There are so many great Scottish bands. I attended gigs all the time while I was there and discovered lots of great music. One of the bands I really got into was Aereogramme. Too bad they broke up. But two of the band member resurfaced as the The Unwinding Hours and released a brilliant album in 2010. One of the musical highlights of the year.

.....well I only bought three albums in 2010...so here is what I have...

Armored Saint....La Raza (Not as good as there best. but the best of 2010).

Maiden....Final Frontier....Good...but weaker than their other releases in the 00's.

Valient Thorr (Stranger)....pretty good...not as good as there other albums.


After that? Who knows?

1: Killing Joke - Absolute Dissent. Stellar comeback with the TROOO line-up.

2: Misery Index - Hiers to Thievery. A solid album.

3: Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier. It has grown on me.

Although it was not released in 2010, I picked up SeventhVoid/Heavan is Gone. Really good album, anyone else heard it or know if they plan on putting anything new out?? I cannot find much info on them. Also since I am sure Type O is pretty much done, I wonder if SeventhVoid will do more.

Yeah, I've listened to the SeventhVoid album a couple of times. I think it's quite good! Haven't heard any news regarding the future of the project, but with the demise of Type O Negative I wouldn't be surprised if they kept going.

Diamond Eyes is great. Best one since White Pony.

Wasn't Mechanize released in late 2009? Not sure now.
