Vehemence compared to Dream Theater, I dont know about that but thanks! More like Embraced, Mutant, Theory in Practice, Entombed, Gorefest. The best CD I liked form this year was Opeth's new album Deliverance.

Also, to update my list a bit...

The new Opeth is f*cking fantastic, screw the naysayers, they rule. It jumped into my list at #7, bumping Blind Guardian from the top 10. Also, the new White Skull is one of the better power metal releases of the past few years and jumped in at #13. Arcturus & Ragnarok are now bumped down to 'Honorable Mentions.'

yeah the new Opeth is fucking godly, as is anything they release.

yeah, my collection is so damn small its embarrassing. then again I just got into metal a year or so ago, and just started really really gettin into it over the summer. so it will grow.

Both my CD collection and my hair have grown alot since december 2001. That was the month that I bought my first 3 non mainstream metal CDs. Testament-The New Order, Iced Earth-the Dark Saga, and Emperor-Equilibrium. Two of those CDs are in my top 5 of all time. I remeber I found out about all those bands through a message board at Vh1.
Nowadays Ive been buying about 10 CDs a month.
