Why is that a weird taste? I think it's a good taste (Even though I don't know The Loveless and haven't heard the new Godspeed You...)

Btw I forgot to mention the Dillinger EP in my post, that's one of the most original outputs of 2002. It's a pity Patton isn't going to do a full length album with them.

1) Opeth - Deliverance
2) Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors
3) Frost - Cursed Again
4) Bloodbath - Resurrection Through Carnage
5) Lordi - Get Heavy
6) Blind Guardian - A Night at The Opera
7) Vader - Revalations
8) Graveland - Memory and Destiny
9) Rhapsody - Power of the Dragonflame
10) Nile - In Their Darkened shrines

I don't get to listen to enough new CDs (no metal friends; no metal radio in Oregon) to make a top 10. Also, being in my 30s, I have a large enough CD collection that I don't feel compelled to get every CD that comes out now - I depend on you young ones to filter them out. :)

Given that, my favorites this year are:

1. Opeth - Deliverance
2. Boards of Canada - Geogaddi
3. Oasis - Heathen Chemistry
4. QotSA - Songs for the Deaf

I haven't been able to get into the new Isis (yet, hopefully).

This year, I got into Neurosis and Isis thx to the Godflesh list.

- d, who's scanning this list for new acts - Agalloch sounds promising.

Mine changes every 5 seconds..but hey what the fuck here is a my favourite 3(Dark Tranquillity, Opeth and City of Caterpillar) and the best of the rest.

Dark Tranquillity - Damage Done
Opeth - Deliverance
City Of Caterpillar - Self-Titled
Killswitch Engage - Alive Or Just Breathing
Vehemence - God Was Created
Set Fire To Flames - Signs Reign Rebuilder
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Yanqui U.X.O
Isis - Oceanic
Today Is The Day - Sadness Will Prevail
Agalloch - The Mantle

EP's/Comps/Non-Albums:

Mike Patton With The Dillinger Escape Plan - Irony Is A Dead Scene(my favourite release of last year)
Converge - Unloved And Weeded Out
Cave-In - Tides Of Tomorrow

Here are my favorites, in no particular order...

Opeth ~ Deliverance
Agalloch ~ The Mantle
Dream Theater ~ 6 Degrees
Spock's Beard ~ Snow
ISIS ~ Oceanic
motW ~ Bath
