That's nice. :p If you liked that... you'll like the new songs more. I think we've decided to send the RC promo to you as you reviewed the promo and so on. The song was written during 2002 (there's a rehearsal recording around from sometime in October I think) but recorded in early 2003, so I think it qualifies.

Nokturnal Mortum - Novaja Era mechej
Falkenbach - Donars Oak
Devin Townsend Band - Deadhead
Nevermore - Tomorrow turned into yesterday
Negura Bunget - II

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

The rehearsal recording Erik speaks of is fucking great. To get that sound using that poor equipment (tape recorder from sometime around 793 AD) should give us a fucking medal.

sweet avatar, papa!

Thank you. I've been on a FW kick as of late (hell, when am I not??) and now JayKeeley is absorbing the double volume cassette I sent him.. conversion is around the corner!!

And Erik, I would absolutely love to hear the new stuff, I'll be stalking the mailman/woman til it arrives! Plus, I'll make some tapes and start filtering it around to some people to get the word out. There's a metal show here that a friend of mine runs and I'm sure i can get him to play it on the air.

From what I've heard thus far, Spectre and Guardian have some good shit.

So here's what I don't get: Prog fans in general worship FW, but then dismiss Iron Maiden?? What's up with that - you couldn't get more Maiden worship than early FW.

They also tend to dismiss the Arch albums in favor of the later progressive material...and I'm in that camp. :) And most of the prog metallers I've spoken to respect Maiden.

indeed!

i've cried to the song "guardian" before

Guardian is beautiful, Frank Aresti's solos in that are just amazing.

and that groove part in "the enchantress" ("children of darkness dance in the coven...") is soooooo fucking badass

You mean "The Sorceress," but fuckin' hell yeah, bad ass!!!!

One of my faves is "Epitaph" from The Spectre Within.
