Hey, Inhale-ZyklonB:
If you post the basic details of what Desaster want -in terms of dates, payments/percentages, accomadation, etc- The Masters Of Metal (the promotion company I's works for) will look into at least helping out the Canberra part of the tour and maybe setting up things beyond Canberra as well.
But Australian promoters need confirmation of the band's arrival and intention well before the tour starts -at least 4-6 months to help prepare everything (and that's the bare minimun of time needed) and the basic layout of when they want to tour and when, as well as what venue they may want to play at (verses what venue they will most likely play at), PA and gear arrangements, etc.
Too many times have both local promoters and international bands have been burnt by poor planning on one of both parts, so most promoters may be a little reluctent to book a band who promote a possible tour on a international metal forum. So, please, do some research into where and when the band want to play, what equipment shall be need and lay out a basic finacial plan as well as looking into which promoters will give the band the best deal.
Apologies if it sounds like I's is preaching to you, but sometimes it is just best to be total honest in business. Especially in a business as unsure as the Australia metal scene.
