So my friend has just got one of these leads for his drum kit.. and i haven't a clue nor does he. so, i thought i'd post on here to see if anyone can help me out, or atleast point me int he right direction!

He's using Reaper and he has Roland TD-12.

Thanks..

I'm not sure what interface he has.. but i know the lead is just a Midi end with a usb on it. But, i heard from word of mouth you can record it that way? just with midi program and edrum monitor, or something?

*edit*

i've been told the lead looks like this:

though, it has 1 midi end, not two

Well I'm not quite sure what a "MIDI end with a USB on it" means, but if you're saying the drum module has a USB output (or an adapter with a USB plug), then that probably means it can function as a USB MIDI interface, and thus there should be drivers somewhere (probably on the Roland website) to install to get the computer to recognize it. Then, go into Reaper, make a new track, set the input to be the drum module (if you installed the drivers it should show up), and Bob's your uncle, as you Brits would say :D

ah, you must have posted this just after i posted the image above!

thanks for your post

Haha, yup, pic wasn't there when I replied, but it confirms what I thought, so scouring Roland's website for USB drivers is still my vote!
