TSE 808 Version 1.1

Hey John, if its possible, if you are thinking about further updates, how about a resistor in series with R3 and the diodes, an option for asymmetrical clipping and an option for a capacitor across R8?

And possibly, the option to choose different output buffers, like the the TS9, 808, SD-1.

With those options, you would have a true, build your own from scratch overdrive pedal.

If I touch the project again I will try to remember this ;)

@Onqel : how is the "in" control supposed to work ? Maximum scale is unity gain/default or something ? Or is the "default" value more like halfway (which is the default preset) ?

People with 9V EMG81-loaded guitars, how do you set that "in" value ?

And what's the input signal level to aim for ? peaks at -12dB ?

The maximum setting will give you a 6dB boost (gain = 2x)
The middle setting does nothing (gain = 1x)
(The control is linear)

Regarding the inputsignal when using EMG's/etc I wrote a theory on that here : http://www.theserinaexperiment.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&p=1265&sid=408bf7227f2c9f7b5d168370331892b7#p1263
Of course that theory is only how _I_ understand it

onqel, am I right that 0dbFS treats as 1 V (virtual volts), at least in TSE plugins?

Yes .. a signal that _peaks_ at 0dBFS should be thought of as a peak voltage of 1V or a peak-to-peak voltage of 2V. Remember to measure the peak values, not rms values
