So for some reason or another the though never really crossed my mind to use my tube heads output and run it into a line 6 gx to record that tone. I tried a quick test and used impulses to simulate micing a cab, and the tone sounded way better than pod farm. So I will be recording like this from now on, but I have some questions.
I can record a dry signal just using a guitar and the pod gx/farm, but how would I record a dry signal running the amp into the gx? Would I need a DI box? Would doing it through the amp into the gx produce a better dry signal seeing at is running through a tube head? Would the preamp in the head help at all basically, because I do not have a preamp that I ran the gx into before.
Also, I will need a reamp box so that I can change the tone if I have to I'm guessing.
Any and all info would be great, thanks
