Two Headliners Left

You are right and who knows like I sais before maybe the coupe of the year, NIGHTWISH

That would be awesome. However, they probably can't commit to anything without a full lineup. And remember that Glenn contacts these bands months before we know about them, and Nightwish was probably still in a lot of turmoil then. Also, I really doubt that Nightwish's first show back would be on American soil. That said, I don't doubt that Glenn could pull it off.

How about something similair to the Weapons of Mass Destruction a couple years ago which involved various projects of Savatage and then Savatage. How about the same formula with Masterplan, Place Vendom, Gamma Ray and then Hello fucking Ween.

Woah... You don't look at the site for 1 day and the flood gates open again!!! Holy crap! I'm just beginning to digest Thunderstone and Freak Kitchen and we are handed 2 more bands...

Vision Divine and Mercenary... Ah, think I'll skip this years lineup...

YEAH RIGHT!!! These 8 bands alone seem like they would be a great bill! :tickled:

Glenn just continues to amaze...

Atlanta is looking pretty damn good this year to me. Can't wait for the headliners, and of course April 1st!!!!

Probably a damn long shot, but a big piece of me wants Blind Guardian to be the returning headliner, but I'm pretty sure they have European tour dates on or around mid Septmember.:erk:

However, if the unlikely Kamelot gets the nod, I'd gladly pay for a 300 dollar ticket. That would make the fest be all sorts of awesome.

Guys, get real. Threshold and Pagan's Mind can't be headliners. They don't even list in the top of most European fests. Good bands? Maybe. Headliners? No way.

I'm going with Masterplan for one of the slots.

I don't even really view Masterplan as a headliner either. I think it will be Evergrey and Helloween, but what do I know? I'm still holding out hope for an Ayreon deal, or maybe the long awaited live appearance of Shadow Gallery.

I wouldn't think of Masterplan as a headlining band either. I'm not saying it can't happen, but I'd be a little suprised and disappointed if they were.

On a side note, I believe Glenn has yet to break one of his original rules. I'm gonna guess (and hope) that both headliners will be returning bands, which would make 3 and break his rule. And those bands shall be...Evergrey and Blind Guardian!

My 2 cents(or more)
1 of the Headliners is Evergrey, way to obvious for many reasons and the returning band

I really doubt that Glenn will end a night with a prog band, especially after a night of High Energy sets, and also,I don't see Pagans Mind or Threshold as headliners
Masterplan is not headliner material either, they ,to me are a strong 3 slot
Running Wild?,You think the place emptied during Rage's set, watch what happens if Running Wild should get the other headliner slot(I for one will be headed to the Cheetah if they are)
Helloweeeen,hmmmm......Glenn said no reunions this year, and Kiske rejoining Helloween would qualify, and I would put Helloween in the Same Category as Pretty Maids, would love to see them, but their best moments were at least a decade ago and be a nostalgia act
I will go out of the box for my 2 nominations here
a.Glenn breaks his wallet and gets Rhapsody(not really my cup of tea,but would be a complete knockout)
b.Dragonforce.They intsantly sold out CBGB's for than non show, everyone here(including me,and I'm not really a fan of blazing fast melodic cheesy metal bands)seems to like them, their energy would be unmatched, and this factor:
2 years ago,Glenn IMO took a big risk(probably the biggest risk up to now) by having Edguy headline.IMO they were not headline material. They kicked major ass.I think Dragonforce would do the same,a relative unknown that just comes out of nowhere and devestates.Do I personally think they are headline material, probably not.Do I think they can kick severe ass, yeah.
but then again,Glenn could have been lying to cover his ass about no bands from the USA and no reunions, and majicly,Crimson Glory is the other headliner

I just pray it is either some bands I don't really care for much or already saw live. Would be a disaster for me if it is Running Wild, unless they make a tour in US or at least do a show in NYC

not so sure if it fits the rules or not. But would Morgana Lefay be a possiblility to headline. They have a boatload of albums and the last one was ridiculous good.

I am hoping for some incarnation of jorn...whether just him and solo stuff or masterplan. Jorn does have a new disc coming out and from what i hear on samples, it rocks......Jorn and possilby pagans mind......that could work...

Although I doubt it...Savatage would be good too.....After seeing jon for the first time on a full set 2 years ago...I would give about anything to see that again....His 2nd disc should be out by then...

And here is one that is a long shot.....not sure again about rules...but celtic frost would be great also.....

I really had my fingers crossed for a crimson glory sighting but I think that glimmer of hope is gone too....

I am still down with this guy that wants pretty maids....forthose of you who havent listened to anything after future world, should really give them a change.....planet panic and carpe diem were both awesome....

Well . . . the announcements are coming fast and furious now, and there are only two left unknown: The big two.

If the original rules of Glenn still apply, one is a returning band. I'm hoping Threshold, who should have enough material to fill the top spot now.

The other . . . I couldn't begin to guess. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long.

Steve in Philly

P.S. - Obligatory request for Virgin Steele for PPVIII

I second that- VS are fuckin awesome and deserve a headlining spot.

This guy's got it all figured out...

DRA-GON-FORCE!! DRA-GON-FORCE!!

I think that's a good analysis...it's very likely that two of the 3 bands you mentioned could do this headlining thing. And I highly doubt that Iced Earth will do it cause if Glenn were to break one of his rules, I doubt he would just be able to call them up and they do it as readily as Angra did last year. You don't think Jon Schaffer is getting calls from European festivals asking him to leave that newborn of his and get his ass back on the road? I so highly doubt that ProgPower is Iced Earth country at this point...and no Barlow reunion will happen (cops don't get a whole lot of vacation time these days :Smug: )
