Two Headliners Left

That would be my vote. That would sure enough seal the deal. My prediction though would be Evergrey (would also have me flying down from upstate ny) and Finntrol

Finntroll as the headliner? What are you smoking, cuz I need me some of that :Smokin:

I really doubt that Glenn will end a night with a prog band

One of them will definitely be a prog band... there is only one other prog band on the roster right now (not counting Freak Kitchen, because they're more "oddball" than "prog"). I suppose Pyramaze might have a little bit of progginess to them, but they strike me as being more on the "power" side of things.

So, Evergrey could be a contender (although I consider them more "power" as well). Or perhaps Glenn pulled a psych-out and got Fates Warning.

Evergrey is I guess, labeled after what the festival is
Prog/Power
Evergrey is Evergrey

Isn't the other returning headliner moving up one spot though? I thought that was one of the rules...of course it could have been the broken one (since Mercenary moved up two spots). But, if that holds true, and another unbroken rule is that no one from PP5 or PP6 will play, I think the only possibilities of the returning headliner will be Evergrey, Symphony X (assuming that they were slot "4" and Nightwish headlined PP4), Ark, and Jag Panzer.

So I'm thinking Evergrey will probably be headlining. And of course the other one will be Dragonforce, Iced Earth, or Running Wild in no particular order of preference.

I dont think PM, or Threshold have the power to be a headliner yet. their just not big draws, and I'd be fairly disappointed in that.

I agree completely. Also, as much as I'd love to see DragonForce at PPUSA this year they are not headline material yet either.

I definately think Masterplan is headliner material. Jorn Lande is one of the best vocalists in the world. Then you add former Helloween members Uli Kush and Rolland Grappow to the mix along with 2 great albums. Unfortunately I just don't think it will be them.

Helloween is possible, but they're expected to do a big US tour.

No chance for Iced Earth. Not until they have new material.

I think Evergrey is a safe bet. For some reason I still think Primal Fear will get the other spot. If not Primal Fear then I really, really hope it's Gamma Ray.

Didn't Glenn mention that one band may break the "no American bands this time" rule?

If that is true, wouldn't it mean that one of the headliners would be an American band?

I'm going with my gut & saying Masterplan will be one of the headliners. As for the other, at first I thought Nocturnal Rites, but now that they're headlining Chicago Powerfest (which we cannot make :( ), who knows if that will happen now.
I'm thinking either Evergrey or Gamma Ray will be the other headliner. Primal Fear would be another great choice too. Oh well...guess we'll have to wait & see!!!

How about something similair to the Weapons of Mass Destruction a couple years ago which involved various projects of Savatage and then Savatage. How about the same formula with Masterplan, Place Vendom, Gamma Ray and then Hello fucking Ween.

I second that!

MASTERPLAN PLEASE :hotjump:

Allen Lande

Helloween

OMG

:worship:

Man... a lot of the ones that you guys have chosen are awesome....
General Zod... you sound like you have my taste (halfway anyways)

and thewhisper - have i told you i love you today?

Glenn stated in a post in one of my threads that Masterplan is not happening. Everyone stop askin about them.

My money is on

Evergrey

and

Savatage or Demons and Wizards. Both have been hinted at, and neither has played progpower before so you cant count them as repeat bands.

Demons and Wizards can't happen, Blind Guardian have commitments on both days of the festival halfway around the world, so no Hansi.

I don't care for Evergrey, but they'll probably end up being the return band. Maybe the rule Glenn had to break was the no US bands one, I sure wouldn't mind seeing Symphony X again! Although they're busy recording now :(

would be EPIC.

and likely impossible, considering their lack of doing just about anything in 5 years or so. Jon Oliva's Pain, Circle II Circle, or Chris Caffrey maybe.

but Savatage....... would be insane.

I don't know the financial aspect of putting on a fest like this, but it seems to me that there might be enough dough left to do something big. I think the Ayreon & friends thing might happen ... who knows? It just seems to me that there isn't a whole lot of high dollar acts involved yet, and there is plenty of money in the budget left. Evergrey would then headline Friday night .. Ayreon and friends on Saturday night.
