I went to open a project, in which I've opened several times, and suddenly I'm getting this error:

"There was an error parsing the specified Project: C/user ect..."

When I click "ok" only the drum tracks open. WTF?

check the reaper forums, they are extremely helpful.

also, i strongly suggest saving backup project files for when shit like this goes down. I usually save a separate file after tracking each instrument, then save a new file for mixing etc...

I lol'd my ass off.

Sorry man, don't know what to do to help, always help having autobackups and shit.

This is where I'm fucked! I found the backup files, and the guitar tracks are missing on that too!

Do you have the automatic backups enabled? Only one .bak might be pretty old.

I believe so. I'm using Adam Watthans workflow, so I'd assume that it is enabled. But just to be 100% sure, where do I find that?

Yeah I recall they are. In the preferences, it's in
- Project
- Save to timestamped file in project directory (check)
Every (x) minutes, x being whatever you want.

Yes it is checked for ever 5 mins. Fuck.. What a bug!

I also noticed that since I got my profire2626, whenever I change projects, reaper dies... I need to not have windows vista.

That's really weird to me.

In your project directory, don't you have (loads of) timestamped fils you can load the project with? Ending with .rpp-bak?

I'm pretty sure you don't, but just in case haha.

When I got preferences-->General

Under "Default render path" it's blank. =X

Thanks for all of your help thus far, btw!

But I mean the place where you saved your project ; it strikes me that there's nothing but one backup file. I always end up deleting so many of them, but they're really helpful in case stuff like that happens.

What's odd about this is that I go to the folder in which I'd saved the project, I see nothing but the saved project.. When I go to the search function in the start menu of vista, and type in my file name, there are hundreds of bak files! But alas, none hold the guitar tracks in which I need.
:Puke::waah:

Haven't you deleted those files accidentaly? Maybe when cleaning the project directory (option in Reaper). Try looking for the files in the default recording folder. If you recorded anything before saving the project to its proper folder and didn't check the "move media to the project directory" box, the files should be somewhere else.

I have a Profire 2626 in W7 and have similar problems. Now I close Reaper every time I have to go from a project to another.
