I was thinking of an idea last night that a local radio station (96 Rock) in Atlanta used to do in the late 70's and 80's and it's called Ultimate Album Side. Basically, you pick your favorite 6 songs that you would love to hear on an album side (I Know this is the cd age, but play along). Today you can pick your 6 favorite songs period. In the future, I will give you genres to choose your favorite 6 songs from.

1. Ozzy Osbourne-Crazy Train
2. Whitesnake-Still of the Night
3. Scorpions-No One Like You
4. Journey-Separate Ways(Worlds Apart)
5. Dream Theater-Pull Me Under
6. Night Ranger-Don't Tell Me You Love Me

Used to sit around with friends and do fave album sides (back when we regularly spun vinyl)...my all time fave...side 2 of UFO's The Wild, The Willing And The Innocent...

As far as fave 6 songs for ultimate "album side?"...ooh, that's tough, but here goes...(ranked in order)...

(1) -- Waysted Love by Grim Reaper
(2) -- Private Affair by Garfield
(3) -- Love To Love by UFO
(4) -- Long Time Dyin' by Overkill
(5) -- Guardian by Fates Warning
(6) -- Jet City Woman by Queensryche

Cool game...

Rock on!

Must we only pick stuff from the 70's and 80's? And are those really your top 6 favourite songs of all time?
Pick your top 6 songs of all time...Future threads will be more specific in nature.

This is very hard for me to do considering this isn't broken up in any way. My favorite songs are:

1. Southern Cross - Crosby, Stills, and Nash
2. Africa - Toto
3. Chapter VI from APSOG - Fates Warning
4. I Don't Believe In Love - Queensryche
5. Be Good To Yourself - Journey
6. Still of the Night - Whitesnake

Those songs above are songs that I've grown up,with the exception of the Fates Warning song, and I'll never grow tired of.

Good to see someone still remembers Garfield. I can't help but hear Joe Anthony's voice whenever I hear that song.

I will be breaking these down by genres in the future. just wanted a general top 6 for today.

Cold Sweat - Take This Heart Of Mine
Pagans Mind - Through Osiris Eyes
Jaded Heart - Tomorrow Comes
Dream Theater - Under A Glass Moon
Fifth Angel - Cathedral
House Of Spirits - Wasteland

1. So This Is Love? - Van Halen
2. Any song from Judas Priest during that time period.
3. Two Tickets to Paradise - Eddie Money
4. Any song by Journey during that time period.
5. Dr. Love - Kiss
6. Any song by Black Sabbath w/Dio during that time period.

1. Rock you like a Hurricane - Scorpians
2. Stranglehold - Ted Nugent
3. The Green Manalishi - Judas Priest
4. Flight of Icarus - Iron Maiden
5. Working Man - Rush
6. Take hold of the flame - Queensryche

That's a tough one. But today I would use the following (in no particular order):

1 - Blue Oyster Cult - "Astronomy" (Secret Treaties album version)
2 - Rush - "Xanadu"
3 - Rush - "The Trees"
4 - Michael Schenker Group - "Attack of the Mad Axeman"
5 - Sonata Arctica - "White Pearl, Black Oceans"
6 - Blue Oyster Cult - "Then Came the Last Days of May"

Of course tomorrow the answers could, and probably would, be a little different. Or would they.....

:headbang:

all time top 6, wow quite difficult. The top 6 in specific genres may be a bit easier. Nice to see the Scorps in those lists!!:headbang: :headbang:

Lifes like a River- Scorpions
In your Park- Scorpions
Kashmir- Led Zeppelin
Die with your boots on- Iron Maiden
A room with a view- Death Angel
Pictures of you- The Cure

1 - Invisible - Dio
2 - I Rule the Ruins - Warlock
3 - Don't Say a Word - Sonata Arctica
4 - The Needle Lies - Queensryche
5 - That's What the Wise Lady Said - Angtoria
6 - Jungleland - Bruce Springsteen

This was really hard for me. It's even harder when I don't have a point of reference for myself (track listing on my laptop, CD collection, etc.) because I'm at work. Even still, I could probably make a dozen of these album sides and never be completely happy because I like so much music. Fun exercise! :headbang: I'm looking forward to some of these more targeted album side exercises. :D
