Ultimate top 10 metal album ever.

Divide and Devour is the fucking madness! Wuh oh... *grabs another tissue*

*passes the box of tissues on to steelmill*

Communics new CD 'Payment Of Existence' is officially on the fasttrack towards my top ten. Brilliant as thier first two releases, with an even heavier / powerful sound...great stuff! :headbang:

That song rules, thanx for posting Muz! :kickass:

I really should get my hands on this album... and on Tad Morose's Modus Vivendi! I can't stop listening to the myspace-songs, Urban's voice is simply amazing. :worship: Guess I soon will own all TM's releases with Urban on vocals. :)

officially on the fasttrack... hm... Urban is officially on the fasttrack towards my top one of favorite singers. Now already no.2 and I believe he is the only one who can top Matt's performance on Immortal with the next Pyra-release!

:kickass:
Communics new cd is somewhat the same as Pyramazes, in that its heavier than thier previous releases and every song is not just good...they are all great!

IMO, Modus Vivendi is TMs best release...but it wouldn't hurt to ckeck em all out.

this is such a great song...

Good to see an appreciation for Tony Martin. I think Martin is as good of a vocalist in metal as there is.

Just curious about everybody's preferences here. These are mine:

1. Queensrÿche - The Warning
2. Dream Theater - Octavarium
3. Black Sabbath - Headless Cross
4. Van Halen - For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge
5. Nevermore - Dead Heart, in a dead world
6. Beseech - Drama
7. After Forever - Decipher
8. Dream Theater - Images and Words
9. Autumn - My New Time
10. Pyramaze - Melancholy Beast

I am honestly surprised this isn:t mentioned more often on ANY metal forum as far as top releases. Tesla:s MR is a freaking masterpiece. I probably listened to that thing for a three weeks without removing it from my cassette deck when it came out. I still put it in on occasion and it usually makes whatever new stuff I am listening to sound like shit. GREAT release !!

Tesla - Mechanical Resonance

Absolutely. I think this is one of very few albums Urban and I both really love.

I guess I'd have to include it in any top 10 list. Others I'd probably include (without thinking too hard on it):
Rage for Order - Queensrÿche
Sound of White Noise - Anthrax
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Seasons End - Marillion (so they're not metal... I don't care :))
Remedy Lane - Pain of Salvation
Years of Decay - Overkill
Images and Words - Dream Theater
Dead Heart in a Dead World - Nevermore
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - Iron Maiden

Though, technically speaking, I'm not sure the DT, Nevermore, and IM wouldn't actually come lower in my list if I spent a little more time thinking about it. Since I can't come up with anything better off the top of my head, though, they'll do. :) Slayer's Seasons and Megadeth's RIP also get an honorable mention.

Edit: So it actually makes 11... Strange Highways by Dio. Another one both Urban and I really love.

Very interesting to see how many I share with others though I didn't read anyone else's list until I posted my own.

Trying to name 10 faves is like pulling teeth, but here is what I can think of as of right now.

In no particular order:

Vanden Plas - Christ 0
Pagans Mind - Enigmatic Calling
Dream Theater - Images and Words
Accept- Metal Heart
Tesla - Mechanical Resonance
AC/DC - Back in Black (probably hard rock in reality, but still a worthy choice)
Metal Church - Blessing in Disguise
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Avalon - Eurasia
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Tad Morose - Modus Vivendi
Powermad - Absolute Power

Well shit that is twelve, but close enough.

Thta's okay, I know how many people in Alabama are polydactyl. ;)

Powermad! Been a while since I heard that... I may have to pull that one out. I remember ordering their first tape through... was it Metal Edge?... anyway, it was like a free offer. Pretty sure I still have it somewhere. I think it was an EP.

So, for the next time we come visit (one day soon, I promise!), we can have a duel of the Top 10s, whaddaya say? ;)

Why, her little green mousie of course. :) You should see the larger photo. :D
Her expression with the mouth open reminds me of Toonces, the cat who could drive a car (Saturday Night Live skit if you aren't aware)

That's disgusting! :ill:

Alright here we go!

10. Kreator- Enemy of God
9. The Absence- Riders of The Plague
8. Communic- Waves of Visual Decay
7. Dark Tranquillity- Characer
6. Judas Priest- Angel of Retribution
5. Pyramaze - Immortal
4. Communic- Conspiracy in Mind
3.Testament - The Gathering
2. Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings
1. Amon Amarth - Versus The World

If you have their EP, it is actually worth a little of money even on cassette. The "Absolute Power" release was ahead of it's time. It was thrash music, but progressive technicality and Euro-style powermetal higher-pitched vocals on many tracks. It was very unique in it's day.... and by today's standards as well really. If you have that release, I definitely recommend giving it a spin.
As far as the top ten duel..... you have a bet. Urban and Harumi don't count though. We can throw on a Dio and Angra song or two to pacify them. Also, if UI getr (my delete buttone stopped working just now, I have to type slow) my stereo hooked up right, I will give you a new respect for "three chord rock" AC/DC. "Back in Black" has the most wicked guitar sound you have ever heard (speaking of chords during the song, not solos.,) "Mutt Lange made himself most famous with that production.

Funny related story...was at Pizza Hut this weekend, and the cashier noticed my Trooper t-shirt and we started talking about Maiden. He said he has a couple of those McFarlane figurine editions for Maiden, one of which is the SIT cyborg Eddie :) Check out that 8-pack! :worship:

I will have to see if I still have that tape... I think I do. I have AP on CD.

As for the "duel," sounds like a deal. And of course Urban and Harumi don't count!! :D

We pulled out Back in Black back in May and listened to it a few times. Trust me, I have heard enough from Urban and Johan about the genius of Matt Lange. Consider me duly convinced. :p
