I went to see Ulver live this weekend and it was pretty awesome.

Prior to this I had a listen to their discography and Im really impressed by how they use fx on Kris' vocals so effectively.
Sometimes I find it hard to even hear if its an effect or if he really sings like that. Im talking about their later albums here. Perdition City, Blood Inside, The Blake Album etc..

Like the beginning on For The Love Of God on Blood Inside.. Sounds like the vocals went through a Leslie or something.

Or 01:53 - 02:00 on It Is Not Sound, also from Blood Inside. Very cool stuff imo.

Nowhere/Catastrophe on Perdition City has some awesome stuff too.

The list goes on really.

Does anyone have any inside info on how the guys record and process vocals? I havent been able to find much on the web..

Or maybe you wanna talk about how you use effects on vocals creatively.

I havent had a chance to experiment much with this, but one thing that I like to do is to send the lead vocals through a chorus effect and mix it in just a tad to give it some "space" and "coolness"..
