If we released a 'sampler' CD of tracks from unsigned bands... and it cost ~$5 (for 8-10 tracks), would you buy it (providing it had stuff you liked)?

Answer ze poll :)

US$, and no, not inclusive of shipping ;)

This is all just ballpark figure stuff, of course :) Just gauging (guaging?) interest!

This is an old post from last year, but I'm wondering what the current feeling about this is :)

This won't happen for at least another 8-12 months, but I'm still curious ;)

What if their CDs weren't readily available (ie, not for sale in the UM Store ;)), and the only way of getting a CD-quality track was to get the sampler?

I DO see your point, tho - I'm not fussed on compilations myself, but do enjoy the occasional one :)

Actually, if you combined hard to find demos (the whole things) into a CD, I might go for that. Right now, I have 2 demos on my want list (Degree Absolute and Echosilence). I'd love to get both of those on a CD. Same could go for other bands, too. If it was just one song per band, then no, I'd rather not. Thought I'd add some clarification to my point.

Later.
