maybe it's just because i'm used to seeing the stuff on the albums, but i think some of the best-looking art is the "rejects", so to speak. there's some unused opeth things ("face of melinda" in particular) that just take my breath away.

Yeah I've got some of the unused art work for Opeth (hehe, like may avatar) and I think I prefer some of those to the actual album covers
Where can i see those rejected artworks,ive searched in the website and i couldent find anything?

I agree. sometimes i am sorry to see a piece go unused or changed in
a different way. sometimes not. lots of times the end result is far
superior thanks to the bands input. The original idea for the terria cover
is a good example. i started it off with a concept and Dev and I played ping-pong with it until it became what it did. and i'm thankful for that.
sometimes it works out good like that and sometimes not.
but the main priority is that the band is happy so they get final say.
