I'm not sure if the genre is being named already, but how about some nice melodic death metal? As in the Dark Tranquility/Insomnium/Soilwork direction to name a few.

Funny lol, I used to listen to a lot of their "The Chainheart Machine" and "Steelbath Suicide", but haven't followed them in years.
