Upgrading amp, advice?

I currently have a Marshall MA50C (would sell it to help finance) and am thing about upgrading. I do not play live; I'm not even in a band. I just play metal for fun when I can (from Iron Maiden to Children of Bodom to all types of metal). I want to get an amp setup that I will not need to upgrade again (well, for a long time). I obviously know I do not need a 100W head and 2 4x12's. However, I was like Engl's 15W Gigmaster Head with maybe a 2x12 or something. Would this be too much power for me playing at home (in a garage). Any suggestions on specific amps, setups (stacks or combos), or whatever could help.
