users sharing Kayo Dot on slsk: LuminousAether, Blood Rapture

I downloaded the album, but I'm not sharing it with anyone else (seriously don't see the need to, I just want it for myself, why bother giving it to others), and once I have the opportunity to buy the album (slightly short on funds right now), I will. Just as I have done with every Opeth album.

I downloaded it and I'm sharing it with all, go ahead and try out the album first before you buy it. Don't be afraid, the facts show that since file sharing has come into being, bands on indie labels are selling more records.

that's BS - a lot of indies are getting reamed, just like the majors. everyone in the industry is suffering right now. of course it's not all related to filesharing (it's the economy stupid), but it doesn't help. a ton of labels are in dire straits and have closed or are thinking about it.

I hate to say this, but bands making music of the quality and of any kind of similar style to Kayo Dot will most likely not be able to make a living at it. That's due to flawed people, not music, of course, but that is the sad truth. Based on that, more people will probably buy it if they're exposed to it through file sharing, be it one song sent or the whole album. Most people seem to be decent enough to buy music if it really does something for them, and for those who aren't, well, fuck 'em. Unfortunately there isn't too much that can be done about it.

Well dudes, again that discussion. I know it may be a harmfull thing (even for domestic use or if someone download your album, burn it in a CD-R and sell it), but I'll be completely sincere: I downloaded almost everything that comes from you. Why? Easy. I'm not that rich guy. Here the currency is called Real and its valour towards Dollar it's like 1 Dollar = 4 Reals, so that turns cds very expensive and here we don't have record labels realesing undergorund material. So, I have to order it and the final price would be more or less like 90 Dollars. So, imagine you paying that amount of money for one single cd? Absurd!
Now, the downloading thing. At least from me, you don't need to worry because I don't share albuns. Why? My HD has only 4GB and 3/4 of it is filled. My files are all with 192 kbps, so they demand free space, which I don't have. My modem is 56k, which makes the dowloading a pure torture (I spent almost one day downloading Choirs Of The Eye). For both reasons, I don't let people upload.
Well, that is my case. I'm pretty sure that it would be better buy your albuns, have the booklet and all that stuff that I enjoy. But you should look that there are cases and cases.
