A lot of my favorites already listed. I stand by early Savatage as excellent music, also (albeit Jon Oliva's voice isn't amazing or anything). Omen was pretty good, too.

I can never get enough of Twisted Tower Dire, as far as modern-ish bands go. They aren't quite on par with Fates Warning and the like, but who is?
