Hey not sure if its been asked but what tuning does the band use? And another question the band seems to post alot is it just one member or do they all post?

Awesome thanks for the info. Ya I took someones advice to check you guys out a few months ago from this board and im glad I did. Now im trying to spread the word around here to all the metal heads. Hopefully you guys can get some Canadian dates in when you start touring this summer.

What do you mean "setup" to work properly at this tuning??? Higher string gauge, more neck relief, what else do you mean by setup??? Haven't heard of anyone doing anything too special to their guitars to make them work better with lower tunings, but maybe Im just a nOoOb who always plays in E.

As soon as I heard this new record, i actually left work early and the first thing I did was go home and tune my fuckin warlock down, and figured out the intro to Spirit of the Soldier...

Set up's are a bit better for lower tunings. Just the action mainly....The lower the string goes, the easier the string hits the neck when playing open...it lets loose annoying, almost like pick stratch type noises everytime you play. It makes the playing really really dirty sounding and uncomfortable especially if you're trying to play as tight as possible....

In other words....Lower strings start to feel like rubber bands.....Very loose and hard to hold down. If you have a floyd rose, which most bands use....and the tunings are low....they'll raise the action a bit so the flemmsy rubber band feeling kinda goes away,...the annoying dirty sound goes away....and you can still play low at a comfortable pace......

Don't feel bad....I have one guitar tuned in E flat, which is a regular set....I love E flat, and will love it till the day I die. Not all great bands/albums had low tunings.... The first 3 Dark Tranquillity albums were in E Flat. Cannibal Corpse's "The Bleeding" was in E flat. several others. That's one reason I tune to E flat on one guitar.....

My other guitar is in B flat....a half step lower than Vehemence.

hahah well i tune to BEADF#B
its the same as At The Gates and Soilwork so i figured that was B tuning
i gues i was wrong
well i like this tuning:D
Oh hey Goofpig....About those tabs....

K....I mentioned before that I tune a half step lower, but all the notes could be moved up a fret to match the natural Vehemence tuning. Ummm....I'm not so sure it will work now, because Bjorn mentioned that they tune standard, just real low....

I didn't really think about this before, but my set up is really fucked up, and every guitarist I've ever come across has always looked at me like I was an idiot for setting my tuning this way.....

K.....As I mentioned above...I normally tuned to E flat and did so for years. Now imagine a 7-STRING guitar with an extra low B flat string, but everything else is exactly the same in standard E flat tunings.....So basically you're looking at "B, E, A, D, G, B#, E" .....O.K.....pretend the bottom high E string didn't exist, and put that exact set up on a regular 6 string guitar and that is what I tune to, which isn't exactly standard....

I guess, starting with B flat it would be B E A D G B# ...see what I mean....normally the 2 string is a half step off, but I have mine to where the 1st string is a half step off, and everything else is eactly like an E Flat guitar only with the bottom E string missing.....like I use that string much anyway....

Point being....If I tab that shit out, you guys are going to try and play it and look at me like I'm on crack or some shit. LOL ....I could set my tunings "properly" but I'd have to re-set my whole set up, and I don't really want to go outta my way to do it. Ummm.....Let's just wait for John and Bjorn to tab it out since they know it best anyway.....

I've heard Schetor's kinda suck at times.....I've never played one, but I've been told you cannot readjust the action for shit.....You're stuck with it for life..... Again, don't quote me on this, ...that's just what I've been told.....

Caparison's I've never played either, but a lot of European bands play them so I would think they would be good....

whoa tiger slow down
i have a 7 string as well
its BEADGBE
not b#
lol omg we sound like freaks
but yer man send it on thru, i can get guitar pro to change it for me
so dont worry about anything
i find the g# thing bizarre!
ahh well, tuning doesnt matter if u can still pull off what you do!
john and bjorn will now be known as "The Almighty Fretboard Magician"

K, since you have a 7 string.....figuring it out shouldn't be too much of a problem.....

I'll try to start typing them up tommorrow, but I'm not sure how long it will take me to tab out all 3 songs. I'll probably post 'em one by one.....might take a couple days, but I'll do my best......I might even be able to transpose them myself, but I'll see.....

I want to try out a Schecter Guitarand a Caparison guitar,

My C-1 Classic is awsome, but those are on the high end for schecter...amazing quality for the price. Don't know what kinda of action problems there have been, it's just a tone pros bridge so easy to adjust. They make a seven string i'm still trying to find to try out too.

and B standard tuning has an f#....thats the only way you can play normal chords at least. g# works in C# standard, 1.5 steps down like the last few dark tranquillity albums, or 1 step up from vehemence. I don't understand why the notes sound the same with f# as they do on a 7 or standard 6 do with a G....but I know it works.

lol someone explain this the right way please
