Video of Bulb playing "Unleash The Pwnies!"

well they are definitely a lot better than the emghz crap that came with it (some of the worst pickups evar!1)
but the x2ns are also just way too hot and get noisy and muddy, if this was a guitar i used regularly it would have bareknuckles in it hehe!

Which Bareknuckles do you recommend? I'm really wanting to swap out the pickups on my main guitar. I've been considering the SD Blackouts but I'm really not a big fan of active pickups.

Wow.

I must ask you this Bulb: how did you learn all those cool and unusual chord shapes/voicings (especially the kind you use in "All New Material" and "Totla Mad")? I've always been interested to learn them myself.

I do some similar stuff myself, and I would say just experiment. Move your fingers around until you find something cool. Take chords you already know and replace a note or two, see what happens.

I asked him that after All New Material and he didn't answer  learn the neat-o sounding chords and apply them to your own stuff. For instance, the tapping riff in Totla Mad uses the same interval that Sikth uses a lot when they tune to drop Ab.

edit: not saying bulb ripped them off or anything, he's not using it like they did  it just sounds cool as hell

honestly i dont know haha, i just have a guitar in my hands a lot of the time, and every now and then i will stumble upon a new chord, or i will play something and it will trigger an idea and i try to see if i can pull it off on guitar, which oftentimes leads to cramp inducing chord shapes hahah.
funny enough about both of those songs, once i had figured out the first few chords of the respective riffs, suddenly the rest of the riff seemed to just appear out of nowhere haha!

unavoidable: yeah thats pretty much exactly it! trust me if there was a science to it, i would be trying to come up with new cool chords by the minute haha!

brettT: out of the ones i have tried i have really liked the Ceramic Warpig, Painkiller, Cold Sweat and Nailbomb, honestly they are very different but all amazing, your best bet would be to email tim at bareknuckle and give him a description of the tone you are after and your guitar you plan on using them in, and he wont steer you wrong!

Seriously, my money is just sitting here waiting for you to release a cd. If you don't do anything, it might wander off and end up spending itself on cheap beer.

really impressive!!!
it looks so easy when YOU play it, i better not try to do it by myself
i also checked out your other videos for the 1st time now,
really killer!!!!!

+1 on an instructional dvd

...so, i need to turn off the pc now and go guitar playing, seeing your videos motivated me extremly

cheers
exoslime

Bulb, which bands/songs would you say have, by learning to play their music, improved your playing the most?

oh and we will try our very hardest to have the album done by spring! we are going to audiohammer studios in FL to track all the drums on monday actually!
so really the next big hurdle is writing the vocal parts with our new singer chris cuz we want them to be perfect, and then tracking the guitars and bass could probably be done in a matter of weeks!

exoslime: haha its funny but im glad that you think it looks easy cuz it feels hard to me!

rolve: in all honesty lately i havent really been learning other bands songs, but i think the two bands that did it back in the day were dream theater and chaosphere era meshuggah, i learned a lot of those songs for fun and i think the dream theater especially helped with my chops!

Damn yeah! I love all work Suecof has touched. No doubt you'll get the drums you deserve there.

Can't wait for the disc!

let it burn: wait till you hear the lyrics! they are about a girl who i like but im too shy to talk to, it will be aimed at middle schoolers!

zero: yeah suecof and mark lewis are responsible for some of the best and most forward thinking metal mixes i have ever heard, and are pretty much they only guys i would trust with the drums for our album, i cant wait!!

cacophony: yes sir, all axefx, it has become my new standard. if i use the pod for anything it may be the sparkly cleans, but i may even just use the axefx for that too haha!
