Vocal-effects

I've been thinking about buying a vocal-multieffect-device. could anyone give me any recommendations?
the Digitech Vocal 300 looks pretty cool: many options and seems good for recording and live-use.

I have a band, a project and quite a few other ideas in my head, so I'd need something versatile though it's all mainly in the extreme-metal-area (black/death/thrash/dark/....). I also need something that is good for recording AND live-use AAAAAAND: it has to be easy to use, especially live since I also have to play guitar!!!

do you think the Digitech Vocal 300 would be a good choice? or do you have other recomendations? advantages? disadvantages?

I dunno, some reverb at least. I think I'll have to mess around a bit and try different things to see what I like and what fits the music. thats another reaso why I want something versatile
some bands with vocal-effects I like: Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Limbonic Art, .....
