I'll be taking a voice class this semester, but I'd like to be able to practice on my own, as well. I'm looking for some sort of software that measures the intonation of your voice on a visual grid, similarly to games like Sing Star, Karaoke Revolution and Rock Band, but it needs to be for PC.

If possible, it would be helpful if it also had an import MIDI feature so that I can practice my own songs, or songs that I transcribe to MIDI, rather than settling for a bunch of factory presets from the top 40s billboard that I've never heard and probably won't like.

Alternatively, I'll just keep borrowing my dorm's X-Box and their copy of Rock Band.

There was a "game" sometime called "something" Star, can't remember the first word, anyway it's for PC and you can import your own songs and stuff.

Musictheory.net is probably the best thing out there, and its free. They have an interval ear trainer there, and all kinds of tools that can really help your ear, which will help your vocals. The biggest thing in singing is being able to generate the right pitch and the right intervals. With the tools there you can really get an edge on where you're going, but mostly it's gonna take some time.

Anyway good luck :D
