I recently got a copy of EZ Drummer. I am loving the hell out of it! I wanted to know if you guys could recommend similar VST software but to emulate orchestra's, pianos, keyboards, harpsichords and stuff like that?

I have Fruity Loops and it has some nice tones but I want something that I can incorporate into Cubase, which is the software I am using for music recording and stuff.

For orchestras you could use Edirol Orchestral, pretty easy to get hold of via torrents.

Another very versatile program you could try is Absynth.

I know that there is another one, I've seen it plastered all over music stores and such and I meant to look into it myself, I think it's by Native Instruments which does programs like Guitar rig, which are specifically for Cubase. I'll post here again once I've found it.

There is the Symphonic gold/silver/platinum (I forget) by East West I think but it's harder to get hold of and more expensive if you buy it.

Most Native Instruments stuff is very nice, pretty easy to use as well. GigaStudio is also a great program for orchestra stuff. If you want a really nice set up get Symphonic Orchestra Gold (you need to get the different orchestra sections seperately, but gold version includes more than enough samples to make epic shit.)

I prefer using Native Instruments stuff (Reaktor, Absynth and their synth emulators) more for gothic or techno-ish style music, and Gigastudio, symphonic orchestra for classical compositions.

The songs on this site were written using Symphonic Orchestra if you want an idea of the quality
