I think that most people on this board don't really know the difference between power metal and progressive metal.

The real question is whether the monikers are relevant in any degree (my opinion: obviously not). Music is music, even if it is commercial baloney or pop, crusty madness. (At least that's what I think Frank Z. would think!)

I live in New Zealand and they have never played here, you can't even buy their CDs here. =( But I love their music so god damn much. If they played here in NZ, I'd pay ridiculously large amounts of money to go see them live.

hey i'm not going to apologise for only wanting the best out of a band.. and to me vocals is equally as important as the rest. if they put me off i cant get into it, plain and simple.

yeah i sit in chat sometimes playing them over the vc when im bored..lol, and i talk about them as much as possible and recommend them to people.. actually i recommended someone to d/l tdwot and ttlg last night..she actually really liked them, which is a change from most other people (who have no ear for talent and no taste) who cant seem to stand them (my own bf included)..and i have a whole section dedicated to them on my homepage http://www.geocities.com/thesilentrealm (just a first attempt site without real purpose or reason designed to practise my learning of html and flash5)..
radio stations only play what the advertisers tell them to play, i know someone who works in radio, the stations themselves dont have alot of say if they want to keep recieving money from advertisers. this is what he tells me anyway.

Yeah cool website indeed, even though I had a problem with some of the links in flash. That on rollover thing can be very toucy with text that is converted to symbols. I would recommend putting a button behind the text and just cranking the alpha all the way down so you can never actually see that button, but allow it to have on rollover capabilities the same as the converted text symbols. Does that make sense? Get off geocities if possible! I destroyed your site for an hour by getting one of the music samples and then some geoshitties transfer rate alarm went off or something. Sorry! I won't do it again!

And I agree with Poly; vocals are just as important as everything else. I am a guitar player, but I also pay close attention to every other aspect of the music, including the vocals. If one or more musical elements are bad, it ruins everything.

I didnt say aghora bad vocals, i just dont get off on her voice. thats my choice and as much as i respect others tastes in music, i'd also like to enjoy that same respect.

Yes Satanic that makes enormous amounts of sense. Thankyou for the input, this was my very FIRST attempt..so i still have much to learn, and would like to actually think up and original idea before i make a 'proper' one. And i could never figure out how to fix that elusive text as a button problem before.. i have to go figure that out.. and maybe even complete the site.. ive been lazy lately.. and thanks PMF ..

And I agree with Poly; vocals are just as important as everything else. I am a guitar player, but I also pay close attention to every other aspect of the music, including the vocals. If one or more musical elements are bad, it ruins everything.

I'm a guitarist and vocalist, so I do pay attention to vocals as much, if not more than anything else. But I think it's stupid to dislike a vocalist just because of his/her sex. I don't demand a phenomanally good singer in everything I listen to (even though a great singer does really enhance the music).
