Yet another person who can't get past lead vocals to hear the great music beneath.
SilentRealm said:yeah i sit in chat sometimes playing them over the vc when im bored..lol, and i talk about them as much as possible and recommend them to people.. actually i recommended someone to d/l tdwot and ttlg last night..she actually really liked them, which is a change from most other people (who have no ear for talent and no taste) who cant seem to stand them (my own bf included)..and i have a whole section dedicated to them on my homepage http://www.geocities.com/thesilentrealm (just a first attempt site without real purpose or reason designed to practise my learning of html and flash5)..
radio stations only play what the advertisers tell them to play, i know someone who works in radio, the stations themselves dont have alot of say if they want to keep recieving money from advertisers. this is what he tells me anyway.
I'm a guitarist and vocalist, so I do pay attention to vocals as much, if not more than anything else. But I think it's stupid to dislike a vocalist just because of his/her sex. I don't demand a phenomanally good singer in everything I listen to (even though a great singer does really enhance the music).the_satanic_rabbit said:And I agree with Poly; vocals are just as important as everything else. I am a guitar player, but I also pay close attention to every other aspect of the music, including the vocals. If one or more musical elements are bad, it ruins everything.
