i saw WotW last wednesday. i wasn't too impressed - too much standard hollywood there. they had some cools scence tho - like when tom cruise (iirc) walks through that forest (or small group of trees) and it rains the clothing of the killed people - that looked quite cool...

This is the dumbest thing I"ve ever read.

Steven Spielberg IS STANDARD HOLLYWOOD. Fuck you're stupid. THis is his best movie since Saving Private Ryan. I'm going AGAIN!

Very awesome movie!

I'm trying to get my friend to go with me tomorrow or Sunday, he's a lousy fucking date. But hey, free movie!!! I do want to see this but Tom Cruise makes me want to stomp on his face with a stileto heel.

Glad someone agrees.

I've never really liked Cruise anyway, but its also that I don't like movie adaptations of books. I suppose clarifying that would be in order for those of you who don't know. The only way I'd really want to see it is if they had someone more British play.

I think that if you are going to follow a religion made up by a bad science fiction writer you should just declare yourself a Jedi. It's actually less creepy somehow.

Dude, yeah. If I'm ever a celebrity that's exactly what I'm gonna do. I mean, how else would I get famous? HELLO!? JEDI MIND TRICKS! "These aren't the droids you're...I mean...buy my album"

I'm sorry to offer this spoiler but I ran across a clip of War of the Worlds' climactic scene where tom cruise battles the supreme evil alien.

scroll fast if you intend on seeing this movie and want it to remain a surprise.

HAHAHAHA!
On the other hand, I am really interested in seeing this movie.

I saw this movie the other day and I would say that at the end of the movie there were too many plot holes. I enjoyed watching it BUT it is the type of movie I never want to see again and I am a big sci-fi fan.

I thought it was pretty decent. it had some pretty intense moments and disturbing moments (when they shot the guy multiple times who went off with Tom Cruise's van). Spielberg toyed with my emotions. One of my friends was disappointed with what happened with the son at the end. haha. I wasn't expecting a faithful adaptation, but it was an interesting interpretation of the novel.

I knew before hand it was not a faithful adaptation but I was hoping for just a little bit more from Speibergo.

The son was totally useless to the story line and needed to die
( why didn't he? )

It had some good moments but that one plot disaster that I want mention for the people who haven't seen it yet just annoyed the crap out of me.
Mainly because it changes the whole logic sequence and really makes the aliens appear inept.

I didn't mind most of the story. it stayed true to what happened to the aliens. alittle too much cgi for me. I just didn't like the cheezy ending. All of Boston is obliterated yet grandma and grandpa not only has the one last good looking neighborhood, they are all dressed up for sunday dinner.:Smug: Don't even get me going about what happens to the son.:err:
