Just wondering if I could find a good lead sound like that anywhere or if anyone has any tips for synth programming to produce that kind of sound...

Just kidding...check out THIS page. About half way down is a list of some of the stuff Janne uses. Hope that helps.
EDIT: Go Here next time before making a whole thread dedicated to asking one question. Look around this board, you will find what you need. And also check out Scythes-Of-BodomThere will almost always be an answer there.

What keyboard do you have ?
If you have an x5. I can help you. I worked 2 weeks on it and its finally ready to go.
If you don't have an x5.. Buy the Roland Sonic Cell. im currently re-creating the lead on it, but its harder than on the x5, coz i don't know this device that much..

So yea, if you don't have a korg x5, i can't help you before a while..

Edit : Still tell me the keyboard you have, ill see what i can do. i know stuff about programming

Be sure to know what sounds you want, Janne "improved" his sounds on every album. (Don't know if HE did or somebody else did, but for sure the lead sound (edit: Not the lead sound, but the effect and the envelope) was always different.)

I have a korg k61p that I plug into the computer. I like the versatility of using software synths, the main program that I use is Reason 4... So if anyone has a reason patch with an awesome lead sound that would be ideal.

I wasn't necessarily looking to sound exactly like Janne, just for some ideas for creating a good thick lead sound like the one Janne uses.

I do have an update i made when i had an x50. Somewhere on my computer with a bunch of awesome sounds for the x50.

EDIT : I Found it.

Annihilus : The Tech Lead 3 is one i used in one of my video in youtube, it sounds pretty good, and you can edit it easily to get something cool.. and you can mix it with some other sounds.. like an organ or something like that (if the volume is low, and the sound is transposed down a bit, an organ can sound cool with a lead sound)

Fetzer : True, I think he was updating his "sound box"(i don't know the word in english.. in french it's "module de son") for the newest model recently. I'm not quite sure.

Rents : You're supposed to be able to use the sound i sent you now.

Haha, no problem dude.

Just tell me if it works when you'll buy the x50. and if the update works.

If not, i'll do my best to help you..

(You come from montreal.. do you speak french ? Coz my english is not the best around here lol. would be easier to explain it in french. but well)
