warped tour/bullet for my valentine

but then it moved to a more indie influence.

thats not really true, while there were emo influenced indie bands (sunny day real estate, mineral etc) it also got taken in a more extreme direction with chaotic emo/emo violence/screamo by bands like heroin, antioch arrow, angel hair, and later saetia, orchid, hot cross, and later still circle takes the square and envy (funnily enough a lot of metal fans like this essentially screamo band) etc

imo the more mellow stuff is ok but kinda boring, and a lot of the early chaotic stuff is marred by shitty production and simplistic songwriting. i love emocore (which contrary to what most people think is actually the first form of emo, not some later hybrid of emo and hardcore) like embrace and rites of spring, but after that emo didn't really hit its stride until the mid to late 90s imo!

What the fuck are you doing posting about shit like that on what is supposed to be a "metal" forum?......................."warped tour".........:Puke:

Stupid fucking emo kids posting on here.

Metalcore and emo is the SAME thing except emo has more whining.
What the fuck is the difference about From First To Last's bitch ass whining and like.. Taking Back Sunday's?

Nothing.. the fact that the guitars are a bit heavier.
And that the drummer is good and is into black metal.
He can die btw.
Sellout..

Yeah, anything with emotion that isn't about snowy corpses and dark forests and ghosts and bereavement is fucking pussy!!!!!!!

Finally some intelligence brought to the thread. Too many people have no perspective.

I won't deny that there are bands I will forever say are complete crap, as I think there is a line to be drawn somewhere (I think in most cases its pretty obvious, mostly in mainstream bands that take a good genre, simplify it, and strip it of everything it stood for to make money), but I try my best to be open minded about music. I'm not going to completely crap on a genre if I haven't even taken time to look into it further than what MTV portrays it as. I mean the mainstream thinks of Disturbed as what metal is, so it should be pretty safe to assume that they have done the same thing to other genres as well, including emo.

man do people just see a thread about "metalcore" or "emo" and just react with OH SHIT AN EMO THREAD MUST REPLY IN A FAGGOTY RAGE TO PROVE HOW METAL I AM without actually bothering to read the rest of the thread

because i cant see why anyone could think taking back sunday is emo
