I've been a 'Tower fan for 20 years or so.

Alan's been singing for Seven Witches, and he's been flat-out awesome the two times I've seen him with them. He's definitely still got it.

Ron's doing Spastik, plus he's got that project with Alex Webster going on, and they're still workingon 'Tower album number three...

Don't wait any longer. Unbelievable tech/prog/jazz metal. Ink Complete is instrumental. Ink Compatible has vocals. There's a lot of weird sounds in the music as well (computerized kind of sounds, even fax machine samples) which also gives it a more original kind of theme. Highly recommended.
Sounds different than Watchtower though.

Hm, not sure why that would appeal to most WT fans. It's not uninteresting, but to me certainly misses the maximum entropy appeal of WT's jazz-thrash, not to mention the inidivual virtuosity of WT's instrumentalists...

Confessor is more doom. But a technical doom, old singer has the Alan Techio sound that my be where the comparision is coming from.

Great band though.

There are only 2 real studio albums. Energetic Disassembly and Control And Resistance.
I'm not going to go into a long rant about how influential and important this band is, but think of it this way. Dream Theater, later Death, Cynic, Atheist and later Pestilence would have never existed the way they had if it weren't for Watchtower.
