Construction isn't as hard as you might think. I've bought a house 3 months ago. Since then I've learned how to install and wire electricity, install a complete bathroom, toilet, kitchen, wallpaper and more jobs. The thing about a professional and an amateur, speed!!!!! If I would have let everything done, it would've cost me 20.000 euro's, now by myself I saved those 20.000 euro's.
Just take time for the job, think about it, read into it (find sources on internet, and ask your friends who might have some experience).
Ow...and visit johnlsayers.com for information about studio building, I'm on there also, since I'm planning to start construction april 2010 for a new studio space!

Well After we posted the plan we made, we found a "sponsor" to finance the built itself.
I think in the end it will cost about 10.000 euro.
Bear in mind this is exl. all the electra, cv, airco, toilet and kitchen.
Most of these things were done by a good friend of ours who is an expert in electrics and plumming.
We also already had a kitchen and airco,s and a toilet "laying around".
The studio is built in a section of a already exciting company.
A technical company specialised in electrics and plumming and so on
so they providded these materials.
We put in 8.000 euro in equitment and interieur.
Next to that it is all blood sweat and tears.
We started to really built on sept 1 and we kept on going until now, 5 day's a week sometimes more, 10 ours a day.
But fair is fair we couldn't have had a better start!!!!
And are gratefull to everyone who has helped us out!!!!!
So the moment has arived
The built is done!!!!!!!!!

Do you follow some restriction in the construction (for example in Italy, for a regular place, you need the habitablity of the place, you need windows, wc, etc... so a garage or a cellar will never be a "regular" place for the italian's laws).
Do you have some kind of alarm system?

And yes we do have a alarm system, and camera surveilance!!
