hey everyone... I'm back. Things have been fun in Keyser's world. Work is busier than ever, and I finally got a HUGE promotion... anyway, enough about me...

Dark Water - directed by Walter Salles (Central Station, Motorcycle Diaries)

After the lackluster "The Ring 2," and the horrible "The Grudge," I wasn't too keen on yet another half-baked remake of a great Japanese horror flick. Once I found out who was directing it, I was sold. I met Walter Salles after a screening of Motorcycle Diaries, and I could not be anymore taken by the man. Very nice, and quite in love with what he does. In Dark Water, it shows.
This is a slow boiler of a flick. Great performances all around. Jennifer Connelly was great. I hated the movie she won the Oscar for, but you can't deny her gifts as an actress.
Go see this one... Don't expect a slasher flick. Expect a good, spooky, character study...

See ya later... :D

Congrats on the promotion, Jackie! :headbang:

dark water? sounds deep... but spooky is good cuz i can't hang w/ the blood

I don't mind the blood as long as that's not ALL there is cos I've always loved scary movies but kind of lost interest in the genre when the slasher aspect took over and the suspense/good writing element disappeared.

I liked The Ring a lot (soooo creeeepy) but was also disappointed in The Ring2 and The Grudge. The Dark Water promos definitely piqued my interest. Good to know it won't be a waste of the ducats!
