Weird MetalRockPunkCrossover....don't know, it's weird

..but somehow I like it (esp the choruspart and the screaming ), like Deftones meets The Who or so

this is the first rough-control-mix.
I got so used to show those ruffmixes to you guys and getting great advices that I'd like to ask for some hints on this one, too.

Here you go (I was going for a bit uglier snare on this one, so I didn't gate it much and left some noise in it etc.)
The drums are compressed to fuck with one of those free modernplugins (like that one) :

as you probably can imagine that band is soo much fun to work with
they're pure weed-killers though, so you gotta try kepping a clear mind whilst working with them.....not an easy task

that "trashy guitar" is actually an old untunable cheapo banjo that i have hanging in the studio on the wall....it's impossible to tune it and almost impossible to play on (new yorks phonebook would easily fit between strings and fretboard )
the band wanted to start with one single guitar and have some kind of strange effect on it...i thought let's try that freak-banjo..
I just put an sm57 in front of it without any special positioning and tried to capture that "unique" sound...
and i thought it worked pretty well for that song, so i kept it...

i also have an old 3/4 nylonstring acoustic on which the fretboard is coming off of the neck..rattles like hell, i think i'm gonna use that one on the next recordings

Vox are SM7 into SPL Goldmike-->Fireface.
During Mixdown a small reverb (0.6 seconds) and some delay (8th panned right 4th panned left about 15%).
not much eq, some just one or 2 wide boosts..just 1-2dB or so (at like 3.4k or somewhere there...depends on vox anyway).
on "wakep" there's some antares tube-vst distortion added.
all main vox are doubletracked.
