Well, there's Scientology, which is twisted enough that it's actually kinda cool (esp. if you're a sci-fi nerd like me), and then there's Christian Science, who are the people who won't let their kids take antibiotics and shit like that because that goes against 'god's will'... They're only cool if you're nostalgic for the dark ages.

yeah those people are wrong, but it is just a more extreme version of what most of the churches are doing now. the reason there is a pope and supposed to be church leaders is to make decisions in todays context-not to keep the church mired in the past. if you believe in the specific words of the bible like the pope or southern bapists or the "reborn" christians you have to ignore the books history from nathaniel webster rewriteing it to look more "godlike" and king james rewriteing it to get more seperation from the jews and favor with the church, and the roman catholics killing off the celtic catholics so they would be in power and all the stuff martin luther and reform ended...

the book was writen by man, not god and it has mans faults along with the good in it-it should be common sense that god wants you to use medicine to be well... but then it should be common sense that god doesnt discriminate by race or sex or sexual preference but you still have people that think theyre doing gods work by persecuteing other people...

thats whats great about fallout 2. the game was made with peoples different personalitys in mind. if yer a theif ya can be a theif, if ya wanna get laid ya can have sex with people on yer travels, if ya want money ya can gamble or work in the caravans, if yer a sellout you can join the huboligists and the nitekin and help um destroy everyone else, or if yer like me and judge the "people" by their actions instead of their looks and free the slaves and find lost humans and ghouls and stop the tortureing of the intelligent deathclaws then you get maximum karma points and are the defender of the wasteland and everywhere you go there are humans and ghouls and deathclaws jumping in front of you when anyone tries to fight being total pains in the ass trying to help you and i have advanced power armor and carry 650 pounds of weaponry (and have sulik the barbarian carrying another 300 pounds of weapons for me and lenny the ghoul carrying another 200 pounds) so instead of it being a question of can i beat my enemies or not, it's a question of can i get these geeks trying to help me out of the way so i can get a clear shot at my enemies before the geeks get themselves killed "helping" me
