what about drums?

No one has mentioned Raymond Herrera? This guy can do double bass at LEAST as fast as Lombardo, and his drum technique is amazing. Check him out on Fear Factory's "Soul of a New Machine" and "Demanufacture" albums...

as far as i know, Fear Factory are using drum machine in their music..

My fav drummer is the one for Iced Earth. I also love the way doc does those fast paced solo's for Vader and Dies Irae

if u r talking about Iced Earth's Horror Show, its Richard Christy..but his work with Iced Earth is nothing when compared to his work with Death or Sadus or Control Denied...

well, all the drummer that you have mentioned are killers but , try to hera this guy , his band is monstrosity , they have 4 cds his names is lee harrison and he is awesome!!!!!!!!fast!!!!!!!!!
he is an underated drummer i think if lombardo dont wnat to be with slayer this guy can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
check www.conquestmusic.com for monstrosity they have sound samples there se ya:lol:

i dont like fear factoyr but they use triggers, but it doesnt mean that the machine play the drums, he play that fast the triggers are used to obtained certain sounds, more digital in a way, so he is fast and he played whta you hear in the cds!!!!!!!!!!:D :D

First off , to the guy who mentioned cannibal corpse
yeah that guy is awesome he makes my top 5 fav drummers in fact, his name is Paul Mazurkiewicz (not easy to remember or type!)

and as for other good drummers i think i could list i can give John Tempesta, Gene Hogland, (all of death's drummers), and even the great Flo (from cryptopsy) there dues...
but i gotta admit... Dave Lombardo reigns supreem... (if there is anyone better then him... i havent heard it...

as for Raymond... yeah hes not to bad... he has some really good parts and some great drumm rolls... but all in all hes still bellow all the other drummers i listed... he prolly cracks the top 10 though he prolly ties with John Tempeseta...
and to all the people who think his best work is on Demanufacture... i invite you to listen to securatron and shock... he's hella good on Obsolete... to bad he blows on Digimortal... but the whole band does hehe... (anyway i digress)

:lol::) :) :)

Since there is some confusion. To anyone who does not know, triggering your drums has nothing to do with not playing yourself. It is a way of controlling how your drums sound. With triggered drums no matter where on it or how hard you hit the it will sound the same. This is because it doesn't amplify the actual sound, it just recognizes the pad vibrating and knows to play the recorded sound. Many other drummers besides Raymond use it as well, I would guess that almost every death drummer uses it, which is why there double bass sounds so consistent.

i know for a fact that Paul of Cannibal Corpse has never used triggers.
and Flo mountiner surly doesnt use them on his best album None So Vile, i dont think he does on his last two albums but im not 100% sure...

your pritty wrong about thinking most death drummers use them... i bet less then half the bands use them...

the Nile drummers and Decapitated do however use triggers (i think)
