What are good questions to ask in an interview?

Really would like to know what questions "should" be asked in an interview, and which ones would just come off as lame and sound un-intelligent. Would like to know the ones that the person being interviewed would be glad to have asked of them. Anyone..........?

For musicians, a lot of them like tellin anecdotes so if you ask how a particularly interesting song/album/liveshow came into being there will probably be some wierd and wacky story about it.

When I interviewed Hellhammer & Blasphemer of Mayhem I just asked them the stupid basic questions people always ask:
What do you think of your new record?
Which is your favorite Mayhem record?
Who are your inspirations?
Do you like other music than black metal?
What do you think of bands like Cradle of Crap & Dimmu Borgir (selling loads of records and shit)?

...and stuff like that! It was at last years Roskilde Festival. They played at 3 P.M. and I just made the questions up around noon I think.
