I also want to get into Anthrax. i've only heard "madhouse" from the V-Rock radio station on grand theft auto, the video game. i like the song and have looked for some "best-of" compilation from Anthrax and there are a lot. Which one should i try?

I'd suggest Among The Living from the Joey Belladonna era, Sound Of White Noise from the John Bush era, and Fistful of Metal from the Neil Turbin era. I think all are good introductions to the band. If ya wanna quick introduction to the band, I suggest the songs:
