What are we still waiting for???

I'm just glad to finally have a new Green Day album. The wait for that one was killing me.

Can't tell if you're being serious or sarcastic. Anyway, I think it's a smart move for a longevity-minded band to take their time after having a hugely successful album, rather than rushing out the next platter in a hurry. I saw them play what I think is a new song on SNL over this past weekend and I liked it. I also did get one of those vibes like "I have definitely heard this melody somewhere else before," but I couldn't think of it. (The chorus 'Do you know your e-ne-my...do-you-know-your-e-ne-my' etc)

if the Pain of Salvation album comes out this year, then that will be on the top of my waiting list. Also

Dream Theater
Porcupine Tree
Shaolin Death Squad

Bone Shaker (already shipped), Doro, Crescent Shield, Tyr, Alestorm, Roxxcalibur, Primal Fear, Iron Maiden ("Flight 666"), Dream Theater, Praying Mantis, Jorn. June it's going to be hard on my wallet. And I want to find the new Stormhammer and Kiko Loureiro CDs (the latter is great).

Inmoria - Invisible Wounds!!!

Besides that: Amorphis, Epica (I think they've got a new one scheduled for this year), Krucible, Asphyx, Atheist, Freak Kitchen, Behemoth, and Ensiferum.

Oh, and the live w/ orchestra releases from Epica and Therion, which I think are both coming out in a few days.

There's probably a few I'm COMPLETELY looking over, but a lot of what I was looking forward to is already out.

CDs by these people this year:

Alestorm - Black Sails at Midnight (comes out at the end of the month)
Helloween - 25th Anniversary album (in the summer I assume)
Andre Matos - 2nd solo disc (in the fall, after ProgPower)
Gamma Ray - 13th album (around November-December)
Avantasia - The Scarecrow Part II*

*Tobi isn't sure if it will be ready this year or not. His guess was November-December but we'll see :)

Is DC still singing on the Steel Seal stuff?

I just happened to be listening to that debut today!

No, the partnership DC Cooper - Steel Seal is not going on at the moment. The vocalist on the new Steel Seal album "Redemption Denied", to be released by the end of this year, will be Thomas Vikstrom. :headbang:

I'm waiting on Freak Kitchen, Dream Theater, Vanden Plas, Pathosray, and dammit, Dragonland is due for a new one. *wishful thinking*

I believe the new Dragonland album is already fully written. Olof is currently busy recording the debut album for his latest project Amaranthe. And after that I'm sure they'll get started recording it by the end of the year or sooner I hope.

I've been listening to the new Devildriver, Lazarus AD(great new thrash band that just released their debut this year, check it out if you want your ass kicked), HDK, Shinedown, Lamb of God, Old Man's Child, Steel Panther(this is the first time I have heard them and I am rather enjoying it, death to all but metal is funny as hell to me), Suffocation, and the new Kiko. The Devildriver and Lazarus AD cds are the 2 biggest surprises for me this year and are in full spin all the time right now. I am mainly waiting for...
Pain of Salvation
Mnemic
Vanden Plas
Freak Kitchen
Borknagar
Dark Tranquility
Orphaned Land
Fission
Killswitch Engage
Lost Horizon(I heard a couple short little instrumental demos of new material)
