You guys around here share some quite good stuff!! I just became a fan of gifts from enola and if my wife wasn't around, I would've probably check each and every band! I will, one of these days, just check through all the pages of this thread and hear everyband that you've shared here, as I'm in serious need for some inspiring music. :)

Thank you
I saw Swallow The Sun live two weeks ago in Pori, Finland..
they played whole Plague of Butterflies EP for start and then couple of the classics StS songs like Out of This Gloomy Light Swallow and Hold this Woe and one of my favourites: The Ship
Great gig!

I've been a lot into NEKTAR. What a great band! I've listening carefully their discography and the ones I like the most are these:

Journey to the Centre of the Eye (1971)
A Tab in the Ocean (1972)
Remember the Future (1973)
Recycled (1975)
Magic is a Child (1977)

Another excellent recommendation is Maudlin of the Well and their brilliant comeback: Part the Second.

Hi, just wanted to check back into this forum as I have been gone from UM for quite some time. So off we go with another really meaningful post, just like in the old times ;)

i'm currently into Primordial stuff a lot, don't really know why but the overall roughness of the music appeals somehow.

hey malaclypse!! welcome back - you're part of the furniture of this forum and yours posts are always welcome!

As for me, I've been into:

Filter - the very best things (I love this band!)
Tool- 10k days
Devin Townsend - Terria / Infinity and so on.
Boyce Avenue - The singer behind the pop covers is effin talented.

Thanks for the welcome :) I'll try to stop by more often...

Currently rediscovering:
Meshuggah
Sikth

I don't know what's happened to my metal side but lately I've been having a strong electro- and nu-jazz-season
bands and artists like:
The Cinematic Orchestra
Jaga Jazzist
Röyksopp
Xploding Plastix
Bonobo
Amon Tobin
Red Snapper

Just amazing stuff, almost epic.

Huh, Novembrine Waltz was re-released? is there any notice about this somewhere?

Anyways, I've been mostly listening to the entire Anathema discography and the new Katatonia. The new Katatonia is quite easily their best album yet and this comes from someone who was never into the band aside from Viva Emptiness and the 2 albums before it. The new one really makes it for me, songs like Forsaken, Idle Blood and Day & Then the Shade, are simply phenomenal works of art. Unlike other releases, this one shows an incredible maturity on their side, but of course, I know some of the avid fans around this place will contest my comment :). I kind of think I can hear some Novembrine Waltz influences in the song "Day and then the Shade", the rhythm kind of reminds me of songs like Come Pierrot and Everasia.

When it comes to Anathema, I've been mostly a fan of later day Anathema, especially anything released after "The Silent Enigma", excluding "Eternity", which I hadn't heard so much until this weekend and well, Anathema are certainly ranking in my top 3 again. It's like the kind of band I'd say has not done any mistakes in their career with any album.
