What band deserved to make it out of the 80s and didn't?

Saigon Kick was a 90s band, not an 80s band, but good anyhow.

I LOVE me some Saigon Kick. Their album "Water" is still in my top 10 favorite discs ever. I think it is such a fantastic record!

Gotta agree with the King's X sentiment; great band who seem to have been criminally undernoticed, or underappreciated.

Grim Reaper for sure. They're first two are killer NWOBHM.

I second that !! What an awesome vocalist. They were much more handsome than those guys from Poison too.

I have two words..... Metal Church. Sure they limped onward after the amazing "Blessing in Disguise with two killer releases comprised of the same lineup, but the music scene had changed.

I also forgot to mention White Lion. They were really only slightly better than average as a band, but I think half of their fan base were teenage girls and the other half guitarists. Vito Bratta was absolutely mind numbing. Had he not retired (carpal tunnel syndrome.... tell me that guy didn't practice) from playing...... who knows ? He still is in my top ten guitarists of all time.

Definitely this. The 1st and 3rd discs were sensational.

I'm not sure how to best answer the OP's question. If ultimately what is being asked, is who were the most underrated bands of the decade, than my vote would go to Babylon A.D.

Hehehe, How little we truly know of one another. Tangier could have been great if not for the vocalist change on later discs, but Four Winds was damn near great!

How about Cry of Love? Both of their discs were fanfuckintaboulous! Robert Mason still has that killer voice!

Tangier was good, Forgot how good On The Line was...man what a great song. Also loved the song Peace Pipe from Cry of Love...but that was one of a number of 90's bands that had some great songs.

Love/Hate was a band with tremendous potential...Black Out In The Red Room was recorded in 1989 and released in 1990. That was one killer album.

Another band I thought had tremendous potential was Havana Black. Thier release Indian Warrior garnered much acclaim.

Yeah, Four Winds is probably my favorite album out of the hard rock of the time behind Slave To The Grind. The guitar solo in "On The Line" is a masterpiece. That guy had the best feel & sense of melody. You can sing the entire thing man, just awesome. The 2nd album I thought really sucked, not really the singer's fault, just the songs weren't that catchy to me.

Tangier's "Four Winds" was fucking amazing! I still love that album! I saw them for free at Nay Aug Park in Scranton, PA. back in 1989.

Babylon AD was another late 80's band with an amazing debut and quickly faded off into the sunset.
